Why am I seeing HumanAPI terms and consents when disconnecting my health app? Katherine Ward June 01, 2026 20:17 Updated What's happeningIf you're trying to disconnect a health or fitness app from Thrive and are being prompted to read and accept a Terms of Service agreement and data consents from Human API, you haven't done anything wrong — and your disconnect action will still work. This screen appears because Thrive uses Human API (part of LexisNexis Risk Solutions) to securely manage connections to third-party health and fitness apps. Human API recently updated their connection flow to require all users to read and formally accept their terms and consents before proceeding. If you connected your health app before this update was introduced, you won't have completed this step yet — which is why you're being prompted now, even though you're trying to disconnect. What you'll be asked to acceptYou may encounter up to three screens from Human API:1. End User Terms of Service — Human API's general terms governing how their service works.2. Consent to Collect — Permission for Human API to collect your health information in order to provide their services.3. Consent to Share — Permission for Human API to share your health information with the relevant connected party (in this case, Thrive Global). Will accepting these consents stop me from disconnecting? No. Accepting the Human API terms and consents is simply a required step to proceed through the flow — it does not prevent you from disconnecting. Once you've accepted, you'll be taken to the connection management screen where you can complete your disconnect. When you disconnect, your consents are automatically revoked. Human API will no longer collect your health data, and it will no longer be shared with Thrive Global.Do I have to do this every time?No — you only need to accept the Human API terms and consents once. Once completed, you won't be prompted again if you connect or disconnect in the future.Frequently asked questionsIs my data being shared with my employer? No. Your individual health data is never shared with your employer. All responses and data are handled in accordance with Thrive's privacy practices.I don't want to share my health data — what should I do? If you'd prefer not to connect a health or fitness app at all, you can skip this step entirely. Connecting a health app is optional and does not affect your core Thrive experience.
