Troubleshooting Data Sync Issues Catherine Hamet September 27, 2024 21:14 Updated Is the data from your health and fitness apps and devices not syncing properly to Thrive? You’ve come to the right place. Thrive allows you to connect your data in a few different ways: directly to Apple Health or Oura Ring, or indirectly through HumanAPI. Here’s all you need to know to resync your data: Apple Health Just open the Thrive app on your phone! This automatically syncs your Apple Health data to the Thrive app. If your Apple Health data still doesn’t sync after opening the Thrive app on your phone, try turning the permissions for sharing data from Apple Health to Thrive off, and back on. Go to your Apple Health application on your iPhone Find the Thrive app Toggle the data sharing off and back on Make sure your sleep and step data is turned on Oura Ring Open the Oura Ring app on your phone to trigger a sync between your ring and the app. Once the app is updated, open up the Thrive app on your phone, and you'll see that your Oura data has been refreshed. If you have previously connected Thrive to your Oura account and would like to connect to a different Oura account, take these steps: Disconnect Oura from Thrive on your Health and Fitness Apps page Go to your Oura app or website and log out of your Oura account Go back to the Thrive app and try to connect Thrive and Oura again, this time logging into your new Oura account Other Ways If you have a connection to Fitbit, Google Fit, Garmin, etc., there are a few different places to check. Step 1: (If you own a wearable device) make sure your wearable is synced with its app. For example, if you wear a Garmin watch, make sure your watch has synced its data to the Garmin app on your phone. Step 2: Below is the sync schedule for HumanAPI, which is used for any connection aside from Apple Health. Different applications sync at different cadences, so your data may be coming, but it's just not in yet. Wait until the allotted time has gone by. Application Frequency Fitbit Within the hour / daily at midnight Garmin Within the hour Google Fit Every 2 hours iHealth Within the hour MapMyFitness Every 2 hours MyFitnessPal Every 30 minutes Strava Within the hour Vitadock Every 30 minutes Withings Every 4 hours Why am I not seeing any sleep data? Thrive cannot access any sleep data from Apple Health if there is a third-party involved. In order to start seeing Sleep Data in Thrive, you have to disconnect third-party apps from Apple Health. What does “last synced” mean? You may have noticed that Thrive and HumanAPI show two different "last synced" times for any connected application. This is because Thrive only updates the "last synced" time when there is new data available from HumanAPI, while HumanAPI updates the data on a regular schedule, regardless of whether there is new data or not. I’m seeing some data, but not all. To ensure that Thrive has access to all of your data, you may need to update the permissions for your connected devices on HumanAPI. Depending on how you first connected your Health & Fitness Apps and devices, you may have only selected to share certain data with Thrive, rather than all of it. For instance, if you connected an app when joining a Movement Challenge, you may have only given permission for Thrive to access your activity data. Now that you're in a Sleep Challenge, you’re not seeing your sleep data because you didn't grant permission for Thrive to access it. Here's how you can fix this: Go to the Health & Fitness Apps tab in your Thrive profile Disconnect your apps via HumanAPI Connect Reconnect them via HumanAPI Connect Approve the data points that you want Thrive to collect and process Once you take these steps, Thrive will be able to receive sleep data notifications and process that data.
