Company Challenges: How can I invite non-employees to my Challenge team?

Who you can invite to your Challenge team depends: 

1. Your company’s Thrive setup (whether employees can invite dependents, friends & family, etc to join Thrive)

2. How the Challenge itself is configured (ex: some Challenges may limit participation to employees only).👉

👉 Note: All invitees must create a Thrive account and meet the minimum age requirement before they can join a Challenge team.

Inviting Dependents to your Challenge team

If your company allows dependents (children, partners, spouses) and the also Challenge supports them:

1. Open the Challenge and click Invite.

2. In the invite modal, select the Invite Friends & Family tab.

3. Under the Invite Dependents section:

   1. Invite existing dependents: Under Your Thrive Dependents, click Invite to team next to their name to send an email invite to your Challenge team. 
      

   2. Invite new dependents: Enter their email into the input, then click Invite to team. They’ll receive an email invite to your Challenge team, and will appear under Your Thrive Dependents. 
      Note: These invitees must create a Thrive account before they can join your team.
      
       

Inviting Friends & Family to your Challenge team

If your company allows unlimited friends & family to join Thrive and the Challenge is set up to include them:

1. Open the Challenge and click Invite.

2. In the invite modal, select the Invite Friends & Family tab.

3. Under the Invite Friends & Family section:

   • Invite existing friends: Under Your Thrive Friends and Family, click Invite to team next to their name to send an email invite to your Challenge team.  Click Invite to team next to their name to send them an email invite to your Challenge team.
      

   • To add a new friend: enter their email and click Invite to team. They’ll receive an email to join your Challenge team, and will appear under Your Thrive Friends and Family. NOTE: These invitees must create a Thrive account before they can join your Challenge team.

If your company allows a limited number friends & family (ex: max 3 per employee) to join Thrive and the Challenge is set up to include them:

1. Open the Challenge and click Invite.

2. In the invite modal, select the Invite Friends & Family tab where you’ll see how many friend slots you have

   • To invite an existing friend (already in a slot): You'll see your existing friends in their designated slot. Click Invite to team next to their name to send them an email invite to your Challenge team. 
     

   • To invite a new friend: Click into an Open slot, enter their email address, then click Invite to team. They’ll receive an email to join your Challenge team, and will appear in the slot. NOTE: These invitees must create a Thrive account before they can join your Challenge team.
